Furthest from the labour market?
Pluss' Business Purpose states that our 'services will always include individuals considered furthest from the labour market'.
But who exactly is furthest from the labour market? It is, perhaps, an overused term in the Welfare to Work field.
Pluss are very clear about what it means to us.
Statistics show that around 78% of the wider working age population are in work.
Yet only ....
6.8% of people with a Learning Disablity are in paid work
3.4% of people
with complex Mental Health issues are in paid work
15% of people on
the Autistic Spectrum are in paid work
Pluss are committed to providing innovative services to help these specific customer groups achieve sustainable job outcomes.
But how will we do this.....?
Pluss Value ©
Pluss have developed an internal Key Performance Indicator to focus our services on people who are statistically most likely to be out of work.
Pluss Value © is a system that allocates social value points to each stage of someones journey into work (eg. first meeting > work experience > a few hours paid work > full time work > promotion etc). Each stage of the customer journey attracts a different amount of social value points.
The critical factor is - the further someone is statiscially from the labour market, the greater the social value points attracted at each stage.
So for example, supporting someone with a complex mental health issue into part time work would be given a higher social value score than supporting someone with a hearing impairment to achieve the same outcome.
How do we use Pluss Value © ?
Pluss has a wide portfolio of products and services. Pluss Value © helps us assess each product, service or new business opportunity in terms of the
- Financial profit or loss it brings to the company
- Social value it brings to the company
All decisions to invest are therefore considered on both their financial return and social value.
Some of our products will bring in higher financial value and this in turn can subsidise the business that brings in essential social (but perhaps less financial) value - to help us achieve our business purpose.
The target is also for products or services with higher financial value to consider how they can increase their social value.
Pluss Value © is managed by Pluss Finance Team. To find out more contact Pluss
