Silica Gel will absorb up to one third of its own weight in water vapour while maintaining a dry surface area.
This absorption efficiency is approximately 35% greater than typical desiccant clays, making silica gel the preferred choice where weight or efficiency are important factors.
Our standard white silica gel is non-indicating, as it remains physically unchanged once it absorbs water.
Our environmentally friendly indicator silica gel, Sorbsil R Chameleon R undergoes a distinctive colour change from orange to pale yellow when completely saturated allowing you to know when to replace the sachet to prevent damage to your stored / transported products.
