People can have a go at archery, take part in games, do some ‘Silly Science’ experiments, learn circus skills, and loads more”.
Dangerous Dads, a National Lottery funded project, is working in partnership with Positive People to organise this free event. Staff from Positive People will be at the event to answer questions about the project, which is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund as part of a programme to reduce isolation and poverty.
Zena Gardener, Partnership Manager at Positive People, explains “We have found that fun family events are a way to reach those who need us the most, and engage with them in a comfortable, relaxed environment. We’ll be there to tell people about the further support Positive People can offer, and how they can get involved. It’s a great way to see results, and most of all it is good fun for everyone.”
Pirate FM’s Love Crew will also be there, hosting family games and running hands on sessions in their portable studio. Rachel Yates, Education & Training Facilitator said: “We’re really looking forward to getting stuck into our giant board games with local families and budding radio stars will love our portable studio! You can make jingles, have a go at presenting or just get an insider view on the industry. It’s great fun for the whole family.”
No booking is required. The event is open to everyone, though children aged under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult. The Children’s Centre is available in case of poor weather. Please call 077317 95160 for more information
