Our Barnstaple team were delighted to host a visit from the Italian government this week.
This came about because the Mother of a Project SEARCH student met the Italian Minister for Disabled People whilst on holiday and told him how much Project SEARCH had helped her son. He was so inspired that a group of eight government officials came to visit, including Fabrizio Manca, Deputy Minister for Education, Universities and Research.
The aim of the visit was to learn about the programmes that are available for young people with learning disabilities in the UK. They were particularly interested in Work Choice and about promoting the presumption of employability for individuals with a learning disability.
