Over 40 businesses attended our Disability Confident event held at our fabulous partner employer, The Royal Hotel, in Bideford last Friday.
We were delighted to be joined by Geoffrey Cox QC, MP for Torridge and West Devon, who spoke passionately about how disabled people bring innovation, commitment and a competitive edge to business. We were also delighted to hear from Lyndsey Short, General Manager at The Royal Hotel, George Curry, Former CEO and Strategy Adviser at Westward Pathfinder, Dawn Veal, Occupation Health Adviser, and Mike Matthews, Managing Director at Lineal Software.
The highlight of the evening was our Achiever and Employer awards. Huge congratulations to Reuben Winsor, who works for Lineal Software, (pictured here with Lineal Managing Director, Mike Matthews) for being our North Devon Achiever of the Year. Mike described how Reuben has transformed into a confident, enthusiastic employee who has worked so hard that he is now indespensible.
Congratulations also to Brend Hotels, our fabulous Employer of the Year, who have given life changing employment opportunities to several of our customers at hotels across Devon and Cornwall.
Thank you very much to Robert Zarywacz, Business Editor from the North Devon Journal, and our friends from Voice FM for presenting our awards.
A great evening had by everyone.
