Over 40 delegates attended Pluss and Ingeus' Disability Confident event held at the Sheraton Hotel at Heathrow today.

We were delighted to be joined by keynote speaker, Diane Lightfoot, new CEO from the Business Disability Forum, who spoke passionately about how disabled people bring commitment and a competitive edge to business.

We also heard from the awesome John Flynn, from Wiltshire Police, Vijay Digpal from South West Trains, and Fiona Conlon-Benz, Ashlee Monger and Rhianna Lavender from Marriott Hotels (Marriott Hotels run Project SEARCH site at their Heathrow hotel).

Huge congratulations to South West Trains, who won our Employer of the Year 2017 award. They have given life changing employment opportunities to several of our customers at railway stations across West London.

Recieving the award on behalf of South West Trains, Vijay Digpal said "We are delighted to win the award. It has been a great day with lots of powerful stories shared and has helped us realise that we are doing the right thing.

"For South West trains, being Disbility Confident has been very rewarding. I would say to any other employers that they should try recruiting in a different way and they will see the real difference it can make."

A fantastic morning was had by all.
