Future Clean is an innovative micro-enterprise providing training and employment for people with complex disabilities.
Future Clean is an eco-friendly commercial mobile car wash system that is industry-accredited. It`s an uncomplicated system the size of a tool bag and can be carried with one hand which means it can be used effectively by people with all types of complex disabilities. This makes it ideal for commercial expansion, for training and for franchising.
The system delivers outstanding car washing results despite using only a litre and a half of rainwater to wash 9 average size cars. No water or debris reaches the ground and all cleaning products are bio-degradable.
Operating from Woodhouse car park in Leeds, customers can pay from £6 to have their cars cleaned inside and out, ready for their return from the shops. In this way, the Future Clean model lets us bring employment for people with complex disabilities into to the heart of communities.
Launched in 2010, Future Clean has created around 100 paid jobs. It also offers work trials to many people with learning disabilities, some of whom receive 1:1 support due to behaviour that challenges traditional services. Future Clean also offers Saturday jobs for school age teenagers with a learning disability. Its flexibility and easy set-up mean it offers an excellent fit with both self and mainstream employment opportunities.
Pluss has also developed Future Clean into a successful social franchise model. If you are a social purpose organsation and would like to know more, please email Mik Belcher at firstname.lastname@example.org for further details.
Future Clean won the 'Parking in the Community' award at the British Parking Awards (which recognises excellence in UK parking management, design and technology), and also the European Union’s 'Social Cohesion REVES' award.
