Hands on Pottery

Hands on Pottery icon

Hands on Pottery is a working pottery that provides development opportunities for people with a learning disability.

It provides a safe and supportive environment for basic work and social skills training through the working nature of a pottery where a wide range of ceramic products are made. The essential focus is about learning transferable skills and progression towards and into the world of work.

Every service user has a keyworker, with whom they agree a development plan. These are regularly reviewed so that progress can be maximised.

All service users are trained in day to day aspects of producing clay products. These include: preparing and pouring moulds, glazing, firing and retailing. We then sell all our goods at art fairs, markets, festivals and other community activities and our service users are able to see the value that people place on the goods as they are sold.
