The Devon Positive People team enjoyed a fantastic evening at the Apple store in Exeter exploring how digital technology can help to transform participants lives.
We got to try out a range of exciting gadgets including making drum, synth and guitar grooves, taking great photos, health and wellbeing gadgets, sketching with ipads and getting connected at home using light, heat and security systems.
What's more - all of these workshops are FREE and open to the public every day at Apple stores across the country!
The idea behind the evening was encouraging our staff to embed digital technology into their everyday work so that we can help our participants become digitally included. By engaging with digital technology, our participants can gain confidence and re-discover skills such as photography, art, baking and music. It can also vastly improve participants ability to connect socially with friends, family and local communities.
Here's what our staff said...
"It has provided us all with more digital ideas, inspiration and opportunities to support our participants on the Positive People programme".
"I absolutely loved the evening. It was really fun and has made me want to buy some of the apple products myself!"
"I think I could get seriously into making music. I need to come back here with my kids. This could make such a difference to peoples lives".
