Steve’s experience spans the private, public and third sectors. He spent the first 25 years of his career with BT, during which he held a variety of sales / business development roles. In the late 1990’s, Steve joined BT’s specialist Inward Investment team, where he worked as a Business Consultant alongside central and local government to attract overseas organisations into the UK. Success in this role saw Steve seconded fulltime to UK Trade & Investment in New York USA as Vice Consul, where he was responsible for ICT-based Inward Investment from the North Eastern US, and to act as Customer Service specialist advisor to UKTI teams across the USA and Canada.

Steve continued his association with economic development on his return to the UK in 2005, when he opted to leave BT and establish his own consulting business.

Steve became involved in the Welfare to Work sector in 2007 when he joined Working Links. He progressed to the role of Sales Director, and was with the company during the bidding processes for major new employment contracts including Pathways to Work, Flexible New Deal 1 & 2, Work Choice and Work Programme.

Steve joined Pluss in June 2011, initially on a self-employed basis. He became a full-time employee in December 2011, and part of the Leadership team in 2012 where he was initially responsible for Business Development. In 2015 he was appointed CEO.
